One thing you could do is pre weight your wood blocks. Then just weigh your wood blocks after eggs are laid and subtract the first weight to estimate how heavy your eggs are. That way you don’t need to scratch the eggs off to see how heavy they are.

What use is the larvae? For feeding the chicken we use to harvest the larvae at the age of 15-18days The weight isnt always the same, different food result different weight, for accelerating the weight, using over ripe fruits is preferable and cost cheaper.

thanks for the video information very usefull, btw better say (KG) "kilos" or "kilogram" instead of speling the letter :) because when you say just "K" you refering to units like for example: 2k is diferente from 2kg, so 2k means 2000 units and 2kg (kilos) means a weight measurement unit hope this helps to avoid misundertood

Thanks so much! I am trying to perfect my house/medium scale now so that I can go to production scale in USA. I have found your videos really helpful. I have a self harvest setup right now but I am struggling with breeding. I can get wild population eggs easily but I would like to be able to do captive breeding effectively to support a larger scale in the next step. Rice husk is not cheap here and I am wondering what I should be using instead? ( as an attractant)

2.5 grams eggs makes 10KG of Larve (15 days old).

2,5 gr of eggs makes aprox. 70000 larve (10kg in 15th day) but it depends your care. Feeding, heat, moisture, technique, changes the amount and kg.
