How to calculate EMPLOYEE RETENTION with DAX

The formula is deceptively easy but the DAX can be quite tricky. Thanks much! This is really helpful. My DAX formulas match yours, however, the starting and ending head counts have the same values as All Employees. What might be the reason for this?

can someone please help me with calculations for rolling 90, 180, and 365 retention using the same logic in this video?

It seems like your calculation and descriptions of what they do are not lining up. Your calculations look correct, however comments such as starting headcount only being able to decline makes no sense. You can absolutely have this value increase year over year and your formulae support that. If what you are saying is true you better make sure you hire a lot of people when you start a company or you will run out of people quick. The issue may be the overly simplified sample file, with no intermittent hires, rehires, or individuals that are hired and terminated in the same period.
