What is the thickness and type of fabric used?

I used cotton birdseye fabric for this tutorial with a 2x8x2 thickness. Birdseye is easy to find, though not as soft as diaper twill. I only found one place that sells diaper twill by the yard and they are frequently sold out. You could also use flannel to make a super absorbent prefold.
