Before the implementation of asphalt coating is carried out in the field, the road surface, either the subgrade, sub-base or upper-base layers, must first be cleaned of dust, dirt, organic and non-organic materials.
Spraying of prime coat and tack coat asphalt is done with an asphalt spraying machine that can measure the asphalt spray per square meter and can regulate the asphalt temperature.
Before the prime coat absorbs into the surface to be coated, the road must not be opened to traffic. If the road will be used for traffic, at least after 4 hours from the time of asphalt spraying and it has been covered with covering material, then traffic can only be allowed to pass through it.
For the tack coat before it reaches an adequate bond condition, the pavement layer above it must not be spread. The tack coat is only used to provide adhesion to the next pavement layer. As long as the tack coat has not been covered with a new pavement layer, then the road surface that has been sprayed with the binder layer cannot be passed by traffic and protects it from possible damage.
