Thanks for sharing, but you also need to allow for weld shrinking. Those joints will likely shrink around 2.5 mm each from the welding process (more for stainless). To simplify calculation, take the shrinkage off the root gap allowance. This makes allowance 0.5mm per butt weld. Tack together with your 3mm gaps and the dimension on left should be 1205mm when ready to weld.
