Why use the second formula? If the tank is half filled and you have calculated the volume as indicated in the first example, just divide that answer by 2 (half the total volume).

From the formula of Volume. Volume equals Pi (who’s first numbers abbreviated and typically used, are 3.14 (then the numbers go on forever.) So volume equals Pi squared (or twice) multiplied (or ‘times’) radius (radius is measured from the center of a shape to the outline or outer edge of the shape.) diameter is the measurement of the shape itself (as seen with circles) and the perimeter is the measurement of the outside of that shape as a whole (like the whole circle or cylinder.) Area is the measurement of the entire INSIDE of a shape--full circle explanation, radius is the measurement of the Area but cut in half. Example: if the total or maximum Area of the top of this cylinder was like 30, then the radius of the top of the cylinder would be half of 30, which is 15 [15+15=30]. So to calculate the Area, or to learn an Area’s radius, just split the number provided in half. Math is a lot. Lol
