I took the math core test (5733) yesterday and scored 200. I have not get the official report yet, but was surprised. The test wasn't hard, and I finished 5 min before the end. Hello I bought your praxis core test but did not pass. Your guide was really good I got 156 out of 162. Before your study guide I got 138. In my essay score I got 12/24 I don’t understand thats means I got what in each essay question.

So a 154 is roughly a 54% on selected response exam? So if you get 70% on a first time blind practice ETS (5101), I should be okay and not having a manic attack?

Roughly, yes. But remember, this is not an exact science. Scale scoring is very complicated. I have tried to simplify it here. I always say you should shoot for a 75% correct on the practice tests. That means you're ready. However, there is no need to have a panic attack. You can do this :)

Hi there. I completed an ETS Practice Test for PE 5091 Content Knowledge and got a raw score of 92/120. I also have your study guide practice test and got a score of 93/120. So roughly, it looks like I scored around 176-177 on my exam (I need 155 to pass). Some of the questions were similar, and that's all fine. But, my concern lies in the ETS Praxis Study Companion Example Questions. I took the ETS Praxis study companion 30-question quiz they give on their study guide and those questions seemed a bit more intense/difficult. I'm assuming the questions on the actual exam are more related to your practice tests / ETS practice tests that I purchased? Or I at least hope they are? Any response/info would be appreciated.

Hi there, thank you for using my products. You will never know what questions you will get on the exam. Some questions have a higher depth of knowledge than others. The most important thing you can do is really understand the concepts tested on the exam. That's why we have so much information in the study guide before the practice tests. We craft our questions based on the blueprint, test specifications, and sample questions ETS provides. However, we have no idea what questions you will get on the actual exam. It is very effective that you are using both ETS and another study guide to study for the exam. I would focus less on practice questions and more on the content being assessed. Practice tests are an effective way to measure your readiness. However, the content in the book is most important. I just took my first practice test on the Reading and Language Arts 5002 and got a 54/80. That is 67.5%. However, I do not see any constructed response questions on the study companion on the ETS website. How will I calculate my score due to this? Thanks.

That's a great start. I would go back and fix up some of those concepts. I always say a 75% correct on the practice test means you're ready for the real exam. Also, there is no constructed response for the 5002. It's just selected-response.

HELLO, so I took a 120 questions praxis test and my unofficial score is 161, the passing scores range between 149 -163, should I be worried? My state requires a minimum score of 149.

Looks like you're in a good position to pass. Remember, you will probably not receive the same test questions on a practice test as you do on test day. However, a 161 on the practice test is good. Be sure you understand the content and skills. I know taking practice tests feels good. However, you will want to review those test specifications and content so you are fully prepared. I got a 150 in the Praxis II Elementary ELA 5002 portion but I don’t know what went wrong or what I need to work on since the score report doesn’t say it. What should I do? Also I got a 73% on my Social Studies Subtest PRACTICE TEST yesterday, 44/60, so does that mean I got a passing score or am I close?

If that was your unofficial score, you should be good. It is close. However, the unofficial USUALLY matches the official. You should be ok.

@@catkit86 159. I took all of my praxis tests and my experience is that mostly if the test is all multiple choice strictly, your unofficial score will be the same as your official score. As it was for basically all my tests.

Couple of questions, I'm taking the Praxis 5081 later this week :) First, how much wiggle room would you say there is for the raw vs. scale score? Like how many points does it tend to fluctuate depending on the difficulty of questions? Is it just a couple or could it be 10-20 points? Second, do we get how many questions we got wrong immediately after the finish the test? About how long does it take to get our actual score? Thanks!

@@moniolowere9607 I passed but barely haha. I didn’t study nearly as much as I should have though. I went onto the praxis website and found the info for my specific one and found the area where it tells you stuff to study and know. There was a good amount there so I took each individual bullet point and copied it into chat gpt then pasted the answer into a Google doc. I know AI is kind of taboo but it’s a good tool for getting a general baseline knowledge about something so I did that. The Google doc ended up being 194 pages😅

Hi. I took praxis 5047. 110multiple choice/ 2 constructed response. Raw points show 65/90. Constructed response shows 7/12. Why does raw points available only show 90 vs 110? How do they calculate the score?

And the states are complaining why they can't get certified teachers. A teacher may be proficient in 95 percent of a subject but if the Praxis exam is 95 percent based on the unknown 5 percent, then the test says the teacher is not qualified for the job.

Your unofficial and official score are usually the same. So your score is a 145. Sometimes the unofficial and official are different, but in most cases, they are the same. It is difficult to predict exactly how many questions you must get correct to pass the PLT Praxis test because a scale score is used rather than a raw score. According to your unofficial score, you were two points from passing. So your official will most likely match that. It is rare that the official surpasses the unofficial.

Constructed response questions are scored by trained educational professionals. Two scorers will independently rate each of your written responses, and a third will weigh in if the two graders do not agree within one point. Usually, tests with a constructed response section allocate 25% of the overall score to the constructed response. For example, on the Praxis Principles of Learning and Teaching (PLT), the selected response part of the test is worth 75% of the overall score, and the constructed response is worth 25% of the overall score. ~Yiana Team Member at Kathleen Jasper LLC

I will never understand how they calculate this exam. I took 5205 back in February and got a 148, 40 MC correct and 9/18.. I get my results back today for the same test. 45/79 and 9/18.. with the same score of 148.. how?

I mention in the video that questions are weighted differently based on complexity levels and the scale scoring system. On the second test, you may have gotten more answers correct, but their complexity level may have been lower. It's frustrating. However, I recommend getting 75% correct on your practice tests before going into the actual exam. That way you are in the safe zone for passing. You may want to watch this video too.
