This was really helpful, next time, can you show where/to what each cable connects to. For example the type of cable you used and to what input/output

Does the 1st AC get paid to do the gear pickup and prep? Or is that usually included in their day rate? If they get paid, is is just a typical day rate or a more reduced rate?

This is a common point of contention with producers. You could be responsible for camera pickup and drop off, and thats usually paid either as a bonus on your rate or just extra hours if you’re being paid by the hour. This in my experience is usually not a problem. Prep should be a full day rate or at least a half day rate. All the responsibility of the equipment working, being compatible, and being accounted for, falls on the 1st AC. If a producer doesn’t want to pay for prep, you have to make them sign a paper saying that you are not responsible for the gear working as intended. Communicate that with the DP as well. When inevitably something is missing, you have it on writing that you weren’t compensated for prepping the gear.
