The one thing I might add is that it's helpful to have the blades and the stern facing towards the back of the vehicle or trailer to accommodate the slip stream

Great video. Clear instructions and demonstration. How far apart are your roof rack bars? I have Thule bars 30” apart on a Honda Fit. Is transporting a 1x possible on a compact car? Do you tie down the bow and stern to your fenders with ropes, for added security? Thanks!

Hi - sorry for a slow reply I don’t check this much but I’m glad this video has helped people. I no longer have this car so I don’t really know the answer. A lot of these roof racks only fit at an exact spot above each door so it will vary from vehicle to vehicle. If it could adjust the distance I would make them as far apart as I could for stability.

Are the U bolts something you get from an auto/hardware store?

I think most rowing specific cartop carries come with them. If you're making your own I think you could find them at pretty much any hardware home improvement type store.
