Hey Mags-very helpful tips for the chemo transition from hair to no-hair. I found two other tips that you might want to add: 1). Use a #2 attachment when shaving the head. This reduces the chance of getting in-grown hairs and leaves a little length. 2). A small “sticky” lint brush seems to help rid the head of stray hairs or or hairs likely to fall out soon. after washing my scalp, I just roll the lint bush around my head going against the grain of the hair. Quick and easy! Wishing you a full and complete recovery!

Bless you for your information. I'm in chemo now since my diagnosis in July of 2023. I have another session soon and was going to cancel it. The very first treatment, I used the Paxman cold therapy. It didn't work. I lost all of my hair! I am in my sixties and natural products are all I use. I also had an allergic reaction to the first chemo treatment. Which ruined my skin and took forever to clear.

But as I always say, people in general should know. This taboo about cancer is a thing that has to stop cause there is no shame at all to talk about it and to have it and you can find around supportive people that really give you strength just saying something NICE. Not like the stroppy person who decided to wrote the first 2 comments on this video.🤦 Stroppy people have rights to, but they should share their stroppy ideas with other stroppy human beings. 🙄😁

I remember when my ex said "if we could figure out why proteins fold, we might be able to come up with a medication that differentiates between the protein in hair and the protein in cancer cells." I had no clue what he was talking about. He got a doctoral degree in 7 years from a fancy University. I asked him what he was thinking about one night. It was during our quiet time and that's what was on his mind. My thoughts, by comparison, seemed pretty silly, so I never told him what I was thinking. To this day, I don't know what proteins folding has to do with anything, much less cancer. But they're trying to stop me from getting in situ cancer. I wish I would have asked him more, tho I probably wouldn't have understood. I know the phrase, proteins fold, though and I learned that rinsing something in really cold water makes them "un-fold." That's how I get my glasses rinsed of milk so well. He told me cold water makes the protein in milk "un-fold." Cancer cells are way more complicated than milk.

Hey! I'm obviously not a specialist by any means, I simply share what my experience was. I was recommended not to shave it down to the scalp, but leave about 1 inch of hair so the hair could fall out on its own. It's not the prettiest look, but I did not have any scalp irritation or ingrown hairs! (Which is often the case of you shave right down to the scalp) I did use the products mentioned in the video, but they are only available in Canada (from my understanding). I have heard that gentle baby shampoos can be effective and coconut oil to keep the scalp hydrated! I'm sorry to hear about your sisters illness, sending you both lots of love!

But, I’m glad I didn’t shave my head because I have fuzz like yours now and it’s good to know that it’s healthy for my scalp. What do you think about using a scalp exfoliating shampoo? I hope you are well and continue to be well!

I used the Capilia shampoo that is tagged in the description box (only available in Canada unfortunately); however, to exfoliate my scalp, while I was in the shower I would take a hand towel, get it wet, and gently rub my head. The remaining hairs would come out on the towel. I did this every day when I showered!
