This is the most informative, straightforward, and concise instructional video for spoon carving. Adam Hawker is no doubt a true craftsman and selfless in his willingness to share his thoughts and techniques. Yes, there can be many different approaches to carving spoons. None are any better at ending up with the finished product than this tutorial. Thanx to Adam for sharing. Zed this is the top of your video productions. Also, the laid back approach of you two characters, is entertaining to say the least. Both of you "Dun Good".

What an awesome master craftsman Adam is, nearly 2 hours of pure tutorial absolutely brilliant. At one point i was thinking that he might just go to deep in the bowl ?? Seeing daylight coming through, wonder why it is that you get carried away with hollowing out ? His spoon knives are something else, they look like nick westerman ?? All i have is a beaver craft open type blade and a hook knife from an unnamed set, about 13 quid on ebay, looks like beavercraft but is not !! Certainly learnt a lot, thank you Zed & Adam. Be lucky. I know Adam from when I was working as the Woodland Officer for Dorset, though I live in Exeter at the moment (until I move to Papua New Guinea next month). Haven't been to one of his monthly spoon clubs for too long.. Come to think of it, I haven't seen him or Jo since I looked after their dogs back in November! Blimey! :D

This is great! I’ll definitely be trying to perfect this method! Awesome! Never carved a spoon before but it really has peaked my interest and this video has been the most full of info so far.

Thanks so much for putting the effort in to produce this Zed. Was feeling down due to missing the Spoon Hoolie and this cheered me right up. Really comprehensive video, like a private lesson with Adam. Great work!

Was that a long video or a feature length TV programme! What an absolute joy to watch. What great skills Adam has, he had that spoon to a shape with just the axe that I only manage with an axe and 2 hours of knife work!! How good of him to share his skills like this. Thanks to you both. Might have to get on one of his courses, the whole set up looks so chilled out, the fire, the birds, the parachutes overhead.......

@@Zedoutdoors it seems a common trait of bushcrafters. Birds of a feather :) Your channel is an abundance of knowledge - thank you. If I manage to make a spoon with my Mears knife (without too many injuries lol!) I'll send a link! Best wishes Zed, peace and happy days, Catrina.
