That's a tuto for the pros, you put all the ingredients in it, wonderful ! There is no video on youtube showing how to jibe in a very strong wind on a battlefield sea, kind of survival jibing, I hope you willbe the first to make it !

It’s actually the same, just more so. Strong wind means it’s going to be harder to stay sheeted in during the preparation, so grip far back on the boom and drop your weight even lower to stay sheeted in. Most videos, imho, fail to emphasize the importance of staying sheeted in with the back hand. Instead, since you’re feeling all this pressure, you bend both arms and lean back, which makes it even more difficult. He does a good job here showing how you should let your front arm stay extended while bringing your back hand in, keeping your body in an upright position. Also bend your knees deeper, flip the sail more quickly and more crisply and you’ll get through chop better. Be sure you’re rigged right-too big of a sail and you’ll never be able to control it. Don’t be macho and rig bigger than everyone else. It makes jibing more difficult and in many cases makes slower than if you’re rigged just right for the conditions because you’re fighting to stay in control.

What am I doing wrong if I unwantedly rotate the board further when flipping the sail?
@VladimirYakovlev7 ай бұрын
Hi! Do you mean your board rotates too much upwind while flipping the sail? Probably you are too far back with your sail and body. Try to pull the mast more forward and towards the wind when rotating it. I could help you more if you send me a link to your video.

@@VladimirYakovlev Unfortunately, I didn't have anyone available to film me. But I think you could be right. I sunk the tail a little too much when that happened. It's quite hard to keep the mastfoot loaded while flipping the sail...
