Ye just find a small lump any will work, get as far back as possible and the rest comes on it's own (just like ambulance)

Just do it. U gotta just practice I learned how to do it this weekend. I've always been scared to fall off but u cant be. Theres no supplement for experience. Just try it

I know today I went snow mobileing for the 2nd time and I can already cat walk and take jumps. I took one jump going 60 and the reason I did it was because I wasn’t scared I just did it

Great vid! I've never tried this before and I watched the video right before I went riding and it was really hard but I used your advice and I was able to get myself on one ski just for a few seconds at a time but it was still awesome.

Haha don't even have a snowmobile but still feel like I could do this after the video haha! Those shots at the end were amazing man, some skill to stay balanced and record with the stick all at once!

A big thing to is that keep your foot on a 45° angle and also counter steering

Caleb Donnelly ah. I have the same sled. Just full send it. Gotta hit that throttle hard to start then let off very slowly and keep your balance. You might tip it a few times tho

jdblaster this year I’m a lot more experienced with riding and can get mine to do basically whatever I want because it’s so darn light 😂

Good commentary, I’m just learning this. It’s fun! I didn’t start riding till my mid 30s 51 now and a few of us old guys ( dogs) learning new tricks

before watching this video i had never really riden a sled and bought a 2013 skidoo free ride and just from watching so many videos of ppl riding out in the mountains ive tried doing the things ive seen and somhow can do it right away no problems lol, great video tho helped me to it more smoothly.

It’s very easy to get it up on one ski if you turn your skis to the right as you lean to the left, and then turn them back to allow it to lift much easier as the weight of the sled works with you. Hope this helps anyone having troubles getting on one ski

Hey i ride a 2014 skidoo 600 and i know how to side hill and carve and boon dock but you forgot to say a Major part of carving is COUNTER STEERING please reply it would make my day :)

The thing about riding in the mountains up here in AK is carving is like the only way you can steer the sled

If you are having trouble geting the othe ski in the air try to turn the opposite direction and that can help tilt the sled

Just bought my first sled it's a 2001 polaris super sport 550 fan cooled (dont sled shame me ) but anyways 1400 bucks awesome machine hit the trails and got a feel for the beautyness I'm now hooked anyways funny story on why I came here in my yard earlier I come barreling in a straight stretch tried to do a quick maneuver to the hill and I gave her a lil to much pepper and that thing flew right up on one ski me being a adrenaline junky I am I loved it but was a butterfly feeling at same time and now I'm here wanting to master it

Should express that to make it easier using the counter steering as you come up on edge.

Yes. You can see him doing it to start each turn. Back of inside ski becomes pivot point; throttle blip sends sled in one direction and rider in the other, tipping it over without having to haul on it. Kudos to JR for making it look easy on that heavy wide stance Doo.

Thanks for the deatailed tutorial!!! your the only one who made a video of this on an older sled and it really helps. Do you think I could do it with a 370cc? I weigh less than 100lbs so Its hard for me to manuver the sled

you don't need the throttle blip, just give it a nice jerk with the full body weight. And to turn narrower you can brake with your foot in the snow.

You forgot to mention that when you burped the throttle to get it up on edge you want to counter steer a touch that really helped the get it up on its edge to carve super smoothly

I’ve done it on about 6 different sleds. The heavier the sled the more throttle you will need to give. But it is really all in practiceing.

Yes you can carve any sled...lean the way u want to turn..turn the opposite way ....

You shoulda mentioned countersteer to get it up on one ski right away at the first take. I could see you countersteering but you didnt say it.

SledneckMN it’s illegal in Vermont to modify your exhaust in any way because the loud aftermarket pipes anger private landowners and we lose trails.
