How to Cast an 8' castnet for bait

Step by step the easy way to cast an 8' Cast net for bait. I want to thank my friends over at Fish Bite Rod Holders for the tip. Please check them out on Facebook or go to their website below. I've tried multiple ways to throw a net and this is the fastest and easiest way to learn. Been catching a lot of Shad for fishing lately and glad I learned.

Great tutorial. I've been debating getting an 7 or 8 footer to throw in the surf or places where I have the liberty of a larger net. Allot of the places I go for bait are skinny water and or a long throw. Either way this is one of the more concise with out being too overly long or complicated videos on the subject I've seen.

yeah i like an 8' net the best but i do own a 3' net i use in little creeks and stuff. Once you get use to throwing it this way you will be able to setup real fast too. This tutorial is really made for an 8' net.

Carolina Catfish I have a four foot nylon tyzac that I just got around to trimming the brail lines, and replaced the 20' throw line with a 32' quarter inch. That net I find it's easiest to just wind my line and grab the net half way grab about a quarter of the weights on the outside pull em up and toss the net back over my hand and all the stuff I have loaded already then just hold it open and toss it.

Chum the area first where u want to throw the net.

Find an area with cover such as shrubs and bushes in shallows with a fairly steep drop off a few feet out and on a windy bank. Shad follow the plankton and wind will blow it to the bank.
