This *DOES NOT WORK* if...your desktop PC does not have a built-in Wi-Fi transmitter (either in the motherboard or an add-on Wi-Fi card). Although HowToTech mentions that he has his desktop computer connected to his wireless router via an Ethernet cable (as do I), the router WILL NOT be able to cast the desktop image to the SmartTV. I continue to search how to make the wireless router be the device to do the casting to the SmartTV. So far, I have not come up with any options.

@@hynekdlouhy8121 ever since I made that comment, I solved this issue for my device, even if it didn't support Miracast. Unfortunately I cant remember exactly what I did to bypass this, but I think it had something to do with the "Wireless Display" windows optional feature. You can probably download it if you go to Windows settings, then Apps/Optional Features/Add an optional feature. I'm not sure if that's the only thing that you need to do to enable wireless display though.

A nice detail is that if you set the volume to 0 on your tv and change the audio receiver to your pc, you can play with low delay and with a headset, pretty useful for those without a cable ngl.

@MRF's All Game if you have an hdmi cable almost nothing except the screen settings extend copy screen1 and screen2 are relevant. I think it should be automatic but you have to switch the source of the tv to the desired hdmi port.

HERE I HAVE ANOTHER METHOD. If you have tried the "Project" option but it didn't work, you may look for an option that says "Connect". I tried the same steps with this new option as it was shown here and It WORKED for me with no problems! Hope this could be helpful for somebody.

This method did work successfully for me. The only issue that I am having, is the fact that my TV screen is black for about 10 minutes or so before showing an image from my computer. I am having the problem that when watching my training video from Laptop to Samsung TV it works fine for a few minutes but the image still shows on TV but is not playing/advancing the video. this worked for me thank you. the samsung smart tv series 6 also had the option to connect wirelessly using the source button on the remote. I did have to turn off my Bluetooth speaker that was playing sound from the pc, in order for the sound from the pc to play through the tv speakers. now I can watch anything from anywhere online without needing an app. thanks so much.

@@dylanwhite8940 You are right. The "basic" PC doesn't have wireless card, because in generally these devices have a fix place and connected with ethernet. We can't spook about houses where so much families live and everyone have wifi. The frequency jamming is a potential problem there.

I can see my TV in "My Network" in Windows Explorer. 3 instances of it, actually, but all with the same local IP Address. It does not, however, appear in the list of devices to connect to from the notification area whether I go through "PROJECT" or "CONNECT". Only 2 of the 3 monitors show up there. I just tried, successfully, to cast from mi Android tablet's WiFi to the TV (wired) but my wired PC won't connect to the wired TV anymore. Even the "Cast" option in Chrome's meu is gone.
