Reaching 70 years old I need to throw correctly; yesterday after eight hours of surfcasting, casting from the right side, I felt tremendous pain in my back; relief after a good bath and stretching out the skeleton in bed. On the other hand, today I'm more ready for another fishing trip. Excellent video, after all it's never too late to learn.

Naand kerels. Ek het nounet die video gekyk en met dit het ek baie meer insig gekry. My vraag is hoe lank "slack" moet jou ball wees van jou punt van jou stok af. ek vang met n 12ft . daiwa black widow. julle help sal opreg waardeer word.

🎣 Some good advice there;.... Push with the arm that is above the reel, pull down with other hand, the pivitol point is in-between. Imagine the axis is between both hands! ... The arms should be high then. The cast is made over the right or left shoulder! With a Smooth follow through, not a flick! Keep the rod out at the release angle until the trace has entered the water; or on the ground, if in practicing! Casting practice!..... They need to happen at the same time.

Think about replacing your hands from starting position to the ending position. So your right hand will be at the top,left at the bottom. Then push with your right and pull with your left at the same time. When you are done casting your right hand will be right in front of you and your left almost under your right arm, under your armpit, holding your rod in a 45 degree angle, the tip of the rod facing the sky.

If testing casting distance, why not put a line counter on each rod and actually show the data from the first cast, till the last?

@@ForAnglers not saying the tips don't work, they do. The distances are important, as it was discussed that the anglers will cast further. How far they cast is irrelevant, it is about the improvement in distance.

More... Ek het n 'stupid' vraag... Ons het gewone longbow katrolle maar gaan in Des by n dam hengel waar ons tussen 400 en 500m moet in gaan. Is die enigste opsie om nuwe big pit katrolle te koop wat meer lyn vat?

Die beste is om braid te gebruik vir hierdie langafstand hengel. Kyk na die lynkapasiteit specs op die spoel, dan behoort jy te kan bereken hoeveel braid van 'n spesifieke diameter sal die katrol kan vat. Met die 555 longbow, wat 300m mono van 0.30 vat, behoort jy so 450-500m braid van 15lb te kan opsit. Vir langafstandhengel is die Big Pitt opsie maar eintlik beter. Net vir die retrieve, vis speel op langafstand ens.

Nee glad nie, dit is net belangrik om genoeg momentum (swaaienergie) in die stok te sit om hom behoorlik te laai

@@ForAnglers baie dankie vir die terugvoer...Ek werp al van kleins af my stok reguit oor my kop maar ek het altyd begin op 9 uur en toe ek die video sien toe begin ek oeffen op 11 uur en ek kan nou al konstant 110m werp waar ek voorheens net tot 80m kon werp as ek hard probeer het
