If you catch the ball like this and then continue motion to toss the ball off racket back onto other side of the net - is that a valid shot or can you make a valid shot which absorbs all energy and then gently toss off to other side?
@2MinuteTennis2 жыл бұрын
This is not a valid shot. You can’t “carry” the ball. Against the rules.
@timsilverthorn6437 Жыл бұрын
I have inadvertently on some backhands carried the ball with the inside tip of my racket to heave a drop shot to my opponent’s backhand side and nobody has ever called it illegal. It happens pretty quick, though. I’ve always wondered whether this “shot putting” is legal as long as you do it quick and don’t hold the ball too long.
@timsilverthorn6437 Жыл бұрын
An answer on Quora says it’s legal if it’s unintentional and gave an example where a pro was ruled against because he changed the angle of his racket to flick the ball in an aimed direction.

Nice trick! Not sure how this is helpful though. Do you have any advise on how to handle an opponent who is being an insulting jerk on the court? @2MinuteTennis2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching! As for the opponent, it all comes down to understanding that he’s doing it intentionally to annoy you. Since you don’t want to forfeit, play the match doing everything you can do ignore the opponent. After the match, you have to tell the player that their behavior isn’t appropriate. If in a tournament, let the officials know so they can be on the lookout for the next time. If a casual match, stop playing with them all together.
