Can’t cut those slobs. One day they will be a forgotten treasure.

@@Wired2Fish How do you figure? They're in no danger across the country for over-harvesting, not a grossly sought after species (no Crappie Masters Classics), live in lakes, reservoirs, rivers, and ponds all across the US and Canada, and are even considered invasive in many journals. The day Crappie (both species) become a "forgotten treasure" will be a day 10,000 years after small and largemouth bass have gone extinct.

You got that right! Love me some Specks!

Schools like that are very vulnerable to over harvest (they have nowhere to go other than the basin). Fish have much slower growth rates in the north country and while it grows big crappies, it takes a long time for them to get that big. So they become a highly respected resource for those seeking fish that exceed 14 inches. I'm not saying crappies as a species will be a forgotten treasure, I'm saying quality fish/fisheries,(capable of growing fish over 12inches) at least in the ice belt are getting fewer... As incredible technology has become, it doesn't make it easier for the fish, right? I'm all for a fish fry (especially crappie) but for me and a lot of the panfish nuts I know, fish over 12inches all go back. I get that crappie are not bass but picture cutting into a 7lb largemouth. It's like that for some guys.

@@Wired2Fish I get where you're coming from, now. And yes I agree, fish (of any species) that reach pinnacle size need to go back. I apologize for the misunderstanding and if I was a taaaad bit aggressive with my comment.🙄 Guess I'm just used to the aggressive populations that we have down South.

Another nice vid. What knot do you use to attach leader to main line with your panfish setup? Thanks

Thanks David I just run a simple Albright knot for most of my braid to mono/floro leaders. It is fast and good enough. Kyle

@@Wired2Fish Thanks for the quick response. Albrights are good. If I know there aren't any true giants around, I sometimes use a Yucatan knot.

Thank You. Great to see the Garmin Force in action. What is your opinion on the accuracy of the spot lock on the Garmin Force? Do you ever spot lock over brush piles?
@Wired2Fish5 жыл бұрын
We have found the anchor lock to be spot on so far. As far as brush piles go we don't have many around here. I'm sure it would work great though. Appreciate the Comment! ~Kyle

I'll tell you what, for those that can't afford these kind of optics on these fancy boats, this seems a lot like cheating, you're watching your bait fall right to the fish. I'd like to see you guys be successful without all of those extra bells and whistles, not to be a hater, I'm just saying, personally, I'm more of a fan of the primitive style of sportsmanship, deer hunting with no cameras, fishing with just a basic depth finder.

I agree with you today's electronics make everyone a good fisherman.It pisses me off that it used to be that if you had more knowledge than other fisherman than you were respected for your ability.Now the new sonar takes a lot of the learning curve away and makes people think that they are better fisherman than they really are.If electronics advance much more it will be bad for the fish populations especially if people are keeping fish

Thanks John. The funny thing was, we hardly saw any on side imaging or 2D sonar. Didn't know they were there until we dropped the Panoptix. We figured out that the boat/motor was dispersing the school so we weren't marking them good on 2D, Side Imaging or Down Imaging. When we dropped the bow-mount, LiveScope revealed the mother load in the front and to the sides of the boat. Believe what you will, but that was our experience. Understand that not everyone desires or can afford the technology (fair chase concerns are respected) but it works.

Wired2Fish Hey bud I’m not beating up on you guys it’s just I’ve met so many people that have went but deep in the hole to get a lot of this stuff now they have less money to fish. I’m as bad as anybody because I have 4 birds , 4 transducers and a 360 unit sure at certain times I’ll catch a few more fish but on average not that often had to break myself from riding around all day looking at pictures. A lot of the guys that I’ve run into say the same thing.
