Buddy I used to cross the CBBT fairly regular when I traveled the East coast from Newport News to Vermont. We did some fishing but never seemed to have the time. I live in Louisiana now so don’t need to go that far to get into good fishing but I do miss it. It was good times. I enjoy your videos

Awsome video man I was out there last Sunday got my limit of spades and sheep's spear fishing I saw alot of spads and few sheep's water was dirty but made it happen keep catching them man nice sheep you got
@SouthernReelsFishing6 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the comment and yes it sure was nice. I think all the rain had the salinity low which drove a lot of the fish out... But the Spades were definitely still there!

Beast Sheepshead!! Nice release also. We have Spades in S. FL but they’re not a targeted species. I was surprised to hear you say they’re good eating.
@SouthernReelsFishing6 жыл бұрын
Thanks! And yes the Spades are good eating I think. We fry them up cajun style and they are tasty!

I gotta try fishing that CBBT when I get home In November. What is you main line brand and pound? For Spanish Mackerel you should use a 1 ounce gold or silver kastmaster. That's what has worked well for me. Good video!
@SouthernReelsFishing6 жыл бұрын
Thanks! I use 20lb test Power Pro Braid. Thanks for the mackeral tips, still no luck on them

Didn’t realize they grew that big! Noice catch mate! Makes me want to commit to a CBBT trip. I’m like 4 hours North.
@SouthernReelsFishing6 жыл бұрын
Its worth the trip for sure, but time it right with the weather and winds, it can get nasty quick!
@twotoneusmc6 жыл бұрын
I’d be keeping closer to shore for my first time. I still paddle so I’m not quite as nimble or quick over distances.

Love the videos bud. What is your favorite combo for catching those big sheepshead?
@SouthernReelsFishing6 жыл бұрын
Definitely a low profile baitcaster with a flipping switch. And any light weight 7ft 6 in pole rated for 1/2 to 2 oz lures with 20lb test braid
@DLXSKIFFMITCHELL6 жыл бұрын
thanks. we were using the abu garcia pro max combos with 20lb braid. Do you switch up when going over to spadefish? Again thanks
@SouthernReelsFishing6 жыл бұрын
Yes switched to much lighter spinning setup, 15 lb test I think...

Awesome sheepshead! I bought a kayak just for this after catching a 24” 9.5 off a public bridge recently. My question is what is the cheapest way to get clams? I don’t have a boat and I don’t think they are around here but can I use the jarred kind?
@zachb58033 жыл бұрын
Like clams in a jar or tin from the store
@jeffbray21316 жыл бұрын
Quick question for ya - how do you get your boat there and park? Doesn't seem to be any area in the launch site vicinity to park a trailer. Would like to know especially how Scott and the other Pro Anglers manage? Keep the great videos coming!
@SouthernReelsFishing6 жыл бұрын
You can park all along the street as long as all your tires are off the road. Got to get there really early. Im talking about chicks beach btw

How do you like your outback compared to a PA14? I have a Trident 15 and Thresher 15 and my next boat will definitely be a pedal boat.
@SouthernReelsFishing6 жыл бұрын
Love it, actually thinking about selling the pa
@radigass4 жыл бұрын
You don’t keep them?
@SouthernReelsFishing4 жыл бұрын
Smaller ones yes. not anything over 22 inches. Those fish are so old that I let them go out of respect
@ericmurphy38416 жыл бұрын
does the hobie outback feel a little tippy sometimes with the stability
@SouthernReelsFishing6 жыл бұрын
I wouldn't hesitate to put in in any situation that I would put the Pro Angler in, but standing in it is another story. I honestly think the Outback it a little more versatile than the Pro Angler, but it does lack storage and comfort compare to the PA.

Killed it once again! The Spanish Mackerel bite seems to be pretty good recently, have you tried fishing for them?
@SouthernReelsFishing6 жыл бұрын
I have never tried for them and honestly don't even know how...
@josephmcguiness64526 жыл бұрын
gotcha plugs work pretty good or trolled clark spoons etc.
@Ryan-mp5eu6 жыл бұрын
I catch them by casting spoons maybe 3-4 pilings away from the 3rd island! I've seen people use Gotcha plugs to catch them and I think another local youtuber called 1fish2fish just caught them by trolling and used the fish to feed the homeless!
