Finally a bloke who uses a real reel, an Alvey, the best aussie reel in the world. Top video, great info, thanks for the upload and share. Ps, I have a number of Alvery reels, all well used and still going strong.

Agree, I get 7 Alvey's reels and I wouldn't have anything else. A french fisherman.

I have 4 Alvey reels now in my collection, one of which is over 30 yrs old made from original fibreglass and has the stainless steel back cover plate. It still works in perfect condition, I have plans to buy more Alvey reels and custom Alvey rods for them so I can pass them down to my children and grand children in future years.

do we get tailor in South Australia? Never seen one but the map at the start suggests so?
@chepachii5 жыл бұрын
I never let the lure sink to the bottom then wind in like mad and then pause in the surf with metals, nor seen anyone else.Complicating things this bloke,all it takes is a good cast then a nice steady retrieve.

@mattspinaze152 жыл бұрын
@@glenbuyer8738 yeah, they do now - but they dropped Alvey when they were in financial trouble -only got them back once Alvey were viable again.

how do tailor taste and whats the best way to kill them and keep them? cheers
@harleyharris4728 жыл бұрын
+Zac Johnson I've heard they're really good eating and the best way to kill then is a firm knock to the head, or spiking their brain. Then cut their gills and bleed them in an ice slurry.
@adamc64687 жыл бұрын
Zac Johnson I always catch taylors there beautiful tasting fish!
@rickseifert51395 жыл бұрын
Tailor are excellent tasting fish, bleed straight away after catching and put into ice slurry, keeps flesh firm and fresh.
@rockyshorestackle24894 жыл бұрын
keep them up to 20" length, bleed and right away on ice. fillet at home then: salt + pepper, flour, eggwash, panko crumbs, deep fry. taste great! we catch them on buctails and trailers out in NY: kzbin.info/www/bejne/nWrWpoiif8ubqKs tins will get them also. you need a lure that will not get destroyed by the teeth ...
