How to Centaur Rush in Age of Mythology

This is a tutorial on how to raid your opponents villagers with centaurs in the classical age through Hermes. I made this map in the editor and provided objectives so you could practice this build order and strategy before facing other opponents in a live match. One of my favorite tactics!

Hey ! Nice video :) imo this really all in strat only really works against atty and especially gaia, whic cannot train heroes easily. The Valor from oranos and kronos makes heroes but they are way weaker compared to greek heroes which will be used better than the AI by real players. I only say this because of online practice which made me use this BO, and against anything else than atty i had better results with more standard 4:30 advance time : you lose a bit of early pressure, but you are more stabilized, and ready also to get a 2nd TC if needed while applying pressure (because the more you take economic advantage of the pressure you apply, the less risky it is), or get Sylvan Lore upgrade (which i get after 2nd centaur) + handaxe (important for constant centaurs prod) + my two heroes which deal with ennemy heroes (saves the bolt for Odysseus at least). And then transitionning with hippikon or hoplites if you want to kill towers is really easy :). + careful with the 8ish vilies on favor, you only need 3 or max 4 of them with zeus, and the rest could be used for gold gathering (hippikons, hoplites, jason). But nice didactic video nonetheless, it gives at least a good insight of what can be done with Zeus :)

I mean... you can get a 3:48 with HD and 15 villagers... those couple of seconds won't matter compared to the stronger eco.

@@_saw_aom split first 3 villagers up. 1 on gold with a storehouse that shares gold+wood (most of the time its a single tree, which is enough), 2 on hunt and get HD. Now the first 3 extra villagers go on hunt, and the 7nd villager goes on gold. Produce villagers on hunt again. Try to move the 2 gold villagers to wood as soon as you have 100 gold, and let them both build the temple when you have 100 wood aswell, and delete your kataskopos when you reach max pop for extra pop. Only one storehouse needed and no house in Archaic. Also, the last 2 villagers created don't need to go on food as it won't matter too much, so put them on wood. Once you clicked next age, have 5 villagers stay on hunt, get 2 on gold for Jason (50 gold) and the rest on wood for a house and possibly a storehouse and another granary. On advance i usually have enough to instantly create Jason and another centaur, with Odysseus slightly delayed for a few seconds.

@@_saw_aom definitely a case of practise makes perfect, and it won't work on low hunt maps but it's often an unwelcome surprise for 1600-1700 elo players :>) have had allot of them insta- resign lol.

@@_saw_aom as to your build order, it can be done 20 seconds faster if you optimize your resource gathering and time management. Im kinda into making fun BO's for Zeus and practice it allot.

What do you do if the enemy is Egyptians and uses priests?

I guess the hope is you push their villagers off of gold early enough to where they can’t mass priests. Also normally you can mix in hippikon (once your economy is good enough) to help counter those priests and destroy those watch towers
