No person, man or woman, deserves pennant alimony. Alimony and child support amounts are extreme over-calculations by the family court system. Get out there and work. If you don’t want to be with a high income earner anymore, then you do not deserve that lifestyle.

What was the resolution? I don't understand why a woman with a masters degree cannot support herself. It is obvious that this alimony is retaliation because he filed for divorce. His lawyer was very good, she seemed to be more knowledgeable than the judges. By the way, we don't need to be mathematicians to calculate how much money is needed to pay certain expenses, any 4th grader can do that.
@elainenilsson5472

Because 20 years later she already has a career and you don't know the facts of the divorce. She sacrificed her career to further his. His job is an asset that has to be divided. Was it a fault divorce? We are only getting the $$ side of this case.
@LemonyFresh2000
@LemonyFresh2000 3 жыл бұрын
@@elainenilsson5472 even if it is a fault divorce, what right does she have to leech off of him for the rest of his life until a lawyer can convince a judge that she needs to stop taking money out of (now strictly past the division of property in the divorce) his bank account? 4 years is enough time to get recertified as a teacher and start working. She has a masters in teaching, she could most likely get a job as a college professor within the next 5-7 years past her certification, which has 29k for low end teacher, high is 62k, and for professors the low end is 38k and high end being 168k, which if this is a bell curve of payment, that's moving from a probable 45.5k a year job to a 103k a year job with room for increased pay. No, it wouldn't be easy to do, but it's the same as if she was working instead of staying at home, which is the point. That is a career, which if she is to support herself as a full grown adult she would need to do. Is it expected that she is going to stay at home forever after the children leave? If so then that's a fault of her own and not of the husband's regardless of fault in divorce. He has a job as IT and is able to support her living in a house and for himself to live in a trailer (as stated when the husband's lawyer first came up). How is it fair to the ex spouse that is working and making the money for it to be taken away for the rest of his working career simply because him and his wife stopped being married? Imagine the scenario being flipped, which it has been before, and unless the woman was a multi millionaire the husband got nothing besides a divide of assets. I can't think of a continuous "spousal support" for a stay at home dad. It's a split of property and you walk your separate ways. Hell, in some of these cases he is told to get a job and pay child support well more than he ever made. I don't see how continuous spousal support is even a thing in this day and age where women are getting 80% of the college degrees and mandates are being set into place for companies to have women in positions of power in companies that haven't proven themselves to be there besides having a vagina. Companies are purposefully hiring more women than men simply so that they can claim a pr point in their books and not having the women compete in the same way for a job as men are. How are we going to fix this? Stop giving women special treatment and make things equal? No no no, then you hate women because you're not giving them opportunities over men. Because nothing says equality like forcing one side to pay the other regardless and having the side being paid out given opportunities that the other side would have to kill themselves in order to prove themselves to get. Sounds pretty damn equal to me.

@@elainenilsson5472 by the way, yes I am commenting on a comment made a year ago, do I care? No, because these points stand today even more than they did when you made this comment. Hope this helped put these issues into the perspective of a first wave feminist man, back when feminism stood for equality of opportunity and not equality of who's winning the rat race that everyone is killing themselves to get to the end of. The law shoots men in the foot and then tells them to get to the end of the race by a certain time frame else they'll shoot the other foot. The judges heard testimony that she did not want to work as,a teacher. You know in life you might not like a lot of things you have to do, but you do it. She's entitled to part of his retirement per Qaudro, but if she needs more then she needs to utilize her skills, determined by the Vocational expert. How do you know what the husband did or didn't do? She's just lazy and vindictive! She had 4 years of alimony and during that time didn't make any effort to improve herself. Why you always get a prenup. They aren't just for rich people, anyone can get one and they do amazing things. Any woman who gets upset over the idea of her signing a prenup is not someone you want to married. Think about it, would "YOU" get upset if a woman asked you sign a prenup? Probably not. Some women need to know they have some form of recourse to fuck you over if you ever slight them. Hard to tell in some, but suggesting a prenup is a surefire way to bring out that personality trait if it exists.

In this case the husband is expecting his wife to go back into the employment field after being out of it for 20 years. Her career was caring for family and supporting husband's career.
