I always struggled with those spring clips, but recently discovered the secret. Pry between the hub and the clip (pushing the clip towards the caliper). It seems counterintuitive, but they pop right out. I tried to change the brakes on my wife's X5 last weekend, but found out that whoever did them last (before I owned it) decided the "F the next guy"...which is me. They stripped out the damn caliper slide bolt and decided to hammer it home. I'm hoping to figure out a way to get it out of there without drilling. Bob Ross was the man!
