Have a fancier model 2004 crv, the brake bulb was a flat base 7443 not a 1157, had a 200 yard walk back to my shop to get the right one, at least I didn't have to drive back to a store.

For the 2006 model I am replacing the 7443 was not one. The 7528 is the correct one ☝️

Bad mistake. Touching the glass on the bulb with your bare hand leaves oil on the bulb and it will burn out fast. I been told and learn never touch any bulb glass with your bare hand.

How does oil on the outside surface of the glass make the filament in the bulb burn out faster? I don’t understand how they are related. Maybe the oil could burn and dim the bulb due to the burnt residue?
