How To Change A Casio Scientific Calculator from giving a Fraction answer to a Decimal.

My Casio (Fx-83ES) has different options when you press SHIFT+MODE/SETUP. Press Number 2 (LineIO) for decimal answers and Number 1 (MthIO) for fraction answers. But thanks for the video, it helped me change back to decimal after one of my kids set it to fraction!

Thank you so much 🙏 I was super frustrated by the fractions. I have a newer fx-991CW version but this still helped. I entered calculate, hit settings, then calc settings, then input/output and then was able to change the output to a decimal.

By the way, if you want this for just a single answer you can press the button SD which changes the answer from a fraction to a decimal and back on this calculator it is just above the DEL button

Great video. Quick solution to a problem that should not exist. This is a fundamental design flaw for this to be the default, and the process to change the mode is still too obscure. How can you mess up a calculator? Challenge accepted!
