How to Change a Company Name

CIPC website is not friendly at all.I have clicked on validate a countless times but my company details don't show up.

I had the same problem as well. All what you do is you type in your company registration number. At the end of your registration number there are 2 extra numbers... Add them and it will validate. For example 1111/3345/07. Don't forget to add the last 2 numbers @ the end

@@zukomangele6651 on your original cipc documents on the top of the page. Your registration number starts with the year you opened your company. For example. 2020/ 11111/ 07. Please check you will find it. Cipc wants that entire number including the 2 numbers at the end.

Guys I used Biz Portal, much easier. You go to services, name changes and to Name Change. Then choose the Enterprise without a name, then the approved name will appear then choose that one.

What do you do if your enterprise number doesn't validate when applying for name change?

It is the way it is written in your 14.3 under enterprise number. The year (4 digits), rest of number (5 digits), and calendar date when registration was completed (2 digits).

Hi, Your enterprise number is a 12 digit number, enter that number without spaces or characters and it will accept eg 201145554307

Goodday, What could be the problem when trying to validate the enterprise CIPC gives a message. "You can only file company name changes. The enterprise number you supplied doesn't belong to a company." When I go to the home page and search the same enterprise CIPC shows the enterprise and the Status of the Company "In Business"? I Cannot seem to change the companies name?

You go onto the CIPC and select "Register As Customer" and fill in the required details

For the enterprise number format, I had to find the format by looking at the tax certificate and used the taxpayer registration number exactly as it appears on the SARS form :(
