These little tires are tough. If you are working with a friend, make sure to keep your face and teeth out of the way if one of the irons slip. The last part takes a lot of muscle and you swear the tire might just rip and yes you will swear. Pretty sure during the cutaways he got some help but if not he has monster arms. Tire irons are a must and it doesn't hurt to have a second pair handy just to hold your place and using the lube makes is easier. 10 and 8 inch tires are the worse but this is a close second. Good video and good people to buy from.

Because the spacing is so tight on this bugger you cannot do it any other way as well. I tried to put the tube in after one side was on and I ended up having to take the tire off and do it this way because the rim lock pushed the spoke protector band in the way of the valve stem. Putting the tube inside the tire allowed to avoid that mess. To make it just a bit easier, you can pull the tube out a bit at the stem area and shove it through the hole and put the nut on it and then put that part of the tube back up into the tire. Also note that half way through putting that first bead on he flips the rim over but never mentions that he does.. The next time I have to do this I am buying that tire spray, soap and water helped but it dried too quickly. I used five tire irons to do this on my own. Thanks for the video as it's my bible for the KLX110 rear tire now.

I’m on my 4th beer and I’ve just now got it off. Crazy. People gawk at cycle shop charging 40 to do one. Do it yourself one time and you understand why. Even they have to eat cost of a few tubes even using the right tools and lubes and stand and all the rest.

@@dt8373 🤣🤣🤣 this was 3 years ago glad you commented and remind me of that time… my ole lady was already mad at me for taking too long and I pinched my finger between the rim and tire 🫣🤣🤣🤣 But now I’m a pro at them. Take me me about 10-15 minutes depending if it’s the front/back. But I charge people $55 a tire now. Lol

Thanks ff74! Yeah, it's funny how such a small tire can be such a big pain in the side. Hope you can get your 110 (and your mini me) back up and running soon.

This video helped a lot.... Was able to remove tire after watching a couple of times... One thing, have the right socket wrench... Us basic home user models almost cost me all the skin on my knuckles :) Hopefully reinstallation is simple after the tire / tube gets replaced.I left that job to the cycle gear folks since it required even more tools than I have. Thanks for the video. Any videos on chain adjustments if chain keeps slipping off? Thanks!

Yea the small bikes are where it gets hard. I’ve tried years ago on my 50 and after hours and multiple tubes decided to take it to the shop. This guy makes it look easy but I’m about to try again on a crf110 rear wheel. Just got the old tire off and I’m watching a few videos to see how the pros do it, but they really aren’t doing anything I didn’t already know they are just way better at it🙄 I’m gonna use baby powder instead of tire changing lube which I’m surprised they even sell something like that haha

My buddy heated up the tips of some old butter knives to bend them a little bit it worked for him but he’s good at changing tires on small bikes. Most of the time I see people trying with flatheads they puncture the tube including myself.

Joseph, it's hard to guess. Just go back through all your steps of reinstalling the wheel and double check chain tension, wheel spacers and make sure the rear brake isn't rubbing. Hope this helps!

My tire only leaked form one spoke and the other ones don’t leak expect that one is mine tubed or tube less I’m confused and why does it only leak through one spoke???
@PartzillaParts
@PartzillaParts 6 жыл бұрын
You could have a puncture in the tube right at that spoke, enough pressure elsewhere to hold it in.

I remember the drz110 saying less than 20psi as well as the manual for my ‘19yz. Any more than 20 and it’s a brick. My road bikes are set to about 28-32 depending

Probably not. They are preferred for running lower tire pressure. If you run higher pressure in your tires, then you might not need it.
