How to change a fuel filter on a CNG Honda Civic

you shouldn't teach people how to do this the wrong way, you should have run the engine first to depressurized the system before unscrewing the filter housing, what you did is very dangerous and can cause sever injury, besides states law requires CNG licensing to do any work on NGV cars, you must have a disclaimer here for your own benefit

You need to clarify or even edit your video. You should never work on a CNG system under pressure. Several people have commented below on how to correctly and safely do this but I think it is important to repeat...Close shut off valve as shown then run the engine until it shuts off...then proceed as shown. People have have gotten seriously hurt doing what you just did...I know of an untrained technician who was doing the same thing you are doing but on a HD transit bus (same 3600psi working pressure) he loosened the high press filter laying underneath the vehicle to "bleed the system" before replacing,, the few threads the filter housing was holding on to let go and shot the filter housing, striking this poor dude in the chest. CNG can be just as safe as gasoline but you need to respect the pressure. Please be safe.

You skipped an VERY important step at the beginning. After you turn the shut off valve to isolate the tank pressure from the fuel line, you still have 3,600 psi in the fuel line. To evacuate the pressure out of the fuel line BEFORE you remove the drain plug, start the car and let it run until it runs out of fuel. You can then crank it over a few seconds to make sure there is not enough fuel pressure to start the engine. At that point, you can remove the drain plug and not get the excessive amount of pressure to bleed off. Actually the way you did it is dangerous due to the potential of making a projectile out of the drain plug.

does anyone know if 2014-2015 cng version (natural gas version) transmission is cvt or just standard classic regular transmission ?? because 2014-2015 gasoline version have a cvt.

I just did both filters on my 2014 Civic earlier today, searched to see who has done the latest videos and I see this one. WTH! Close the valve and run the car until it dies to depressurize the lines. Buy the maintenance manual on eBay if you want to do this yourself.

Best way to replace that filter is shut off tank/valve run the car on idle or rev it till it dies and you you won’t have any pressure at all

Cut gas valve. Start car until you uses up the gas on the line. You won't blow yourself up if you have a spark like this guy. Then do the removal process like he did.

Make sure you have a new oring before removing the filter. Usually you can’t reuse the oring

link39521 easiest place to get one would be at the dealership. I've found it can be hit and miss at auto parts stores

No Oil system is the same
