Just to let everyone know, if there is a retainer clip on the outside of the ballcup on the shock, then you will have to remove those with your fingers before they will slip on the balljoints as easy as this video shows. These are supposed to be removed before shipping out from Stahl's, but sometimes they get some that make it out before being removed. Mine were not removed and I appreciate Tom at Stahl's Direct for informing me of this. Anyway, hope this helps out someone in the future.

You forgot yo tell everyone about the locking safety pins that need to be removed before you can pry the pistons off.

I've just plugged my old stx20 in after being in storage for 2-3 years. The top base does not want to stay in the upright position i assume this must be the springs. However, i'm not hearing the magnet release after countdown either is this down to the springs or another issue? I'm pretty annoyed i have to spend much money on replacement struts/springs. They're cheap inadequate Chinese garbage with no markings on them at all to show the meet any engineering defined standards.

PLEASE, save yourself time and frustration by removing the pins on the ball head with your fingers.
