Hi Nemanja, thank you for yet another great tutorial. However, I am a little confused. Isn't the Color blend mode supposed to do what this tutorial is about? I mean, the 3rd method should be all we need. The Color blend mode is supposed to apply the Hue & Saturation of the new color, while keeping the lightness of the original color. And that's all we need, right? Why bother doing all that manually, with helper layers and such?

Nemanja, what the *Relative* and *Absolute* settings affects precisely?
@NemanjaSekulic5 жыл бұрын
Takes a little bit longer to explain, but in short... Relative will change the existing amount of colors, so for example you have 10% of blue color, and by moving slider for additional 10% it will change current color for just 10%. So 10 out of 10 is 5%. And in this case you can retain pure white in image. Absolute is different... Moving slider for 10% it will change color for that 10%. So it will add that percentage to the existing value. And you will mess with the whites too. Hard to explain in short... But hope you got something.
@logan810842 жыл бұрын
The thing is, on the planter when you switch between the original orange and the magenta, the shadow changes. With the orange there’s a little reflection and its more dispersed. When you switch to the magenta the shadow tint is darker and gives less light of reflection. While this is an obvious result in real situations, how/why is this happening in a selected environment like this?

Great tut! I liked that you showed several versions, just in case. My only gripe with photoshop is, there seems no way to replace an exact hex value with another. E.g. I get an app icon, solid green background, white icon on top, and the customer wants it to be changed too a certain hex value. I'd imagine photoshop had an option that actually replaces a colow 1:1, like a swatch in XD or Illustrator, but instead you have to either recreate the icon to get the exact hex value, or manually adjust for hours. Any idea how to change a solid background color to an exact hex value, if there are elements on top that you might not be able to reproduce or cut out probperly?
