Hey CC I bought some of those powermadd mirrors for my bike. I have since broken one by dropping the bike on a steep incline so I emailed powermadd and told them what happened. They responded in (literally) five minutes and said if I sent them a picture of the broken mirror they would send me a new one free of charge. Thanks for recommending a great product made by a great company.

I ruined a tire my 1st time too. Don't feel bad. Nice to see someone make a video about how easy it is to ruin a expensive tire. Most people don't mention the tire has to be in that groove. Experience is a hell of a teacher. Good video! Btw, sometimes it easier if the NEW tire sits in the sun for an hour or if its winter I put a hair drier on low inside the tire and put the tire in a box if I have one big enough. WARM TIRES ARE ALOT MORE PLIABLE!

Hi cyclecruza, today my mechanic changed my tire on my cbr 125 r. He couldn't get the rear tire to fit correctly in the wheel so he put an airchamber in it, but it is a tubeless wheel :/ is it dangerous(maximum speed of the cbr125r is 130km/h(or 80mph)) can my tire blow up?(i read that the air between the tire and the chamber can explode the chamber or the tire if it gets to hot)

Just did my Aprilia Tuono tires. It took me for both tires 1 hour including balancing. I love Continental tires, they are soft and super easy to mount. I used 3 rubber rim savers and a spoon. No scratches, no damage on the wheel or tire. It would have taken me more time if I had to remove the tires, this time the tires were taken off by the previous owner. P.S. Those weights at 8:50. My local dealership left those on my wheels when I had them do tire changes for both of my bikes, and then I would get pissed off and remove them. Was I supposed to keep them there?
@ralphkrueger53866 жыл бұрын
They need to be there to balance the wheel/tire assembly. On spoke rims I prefer the weights that go in the spoke, can't fly off and doesn't look ugly on an awesome rim. Mag wheels basically have no choice. I agree with another reply that said to turn the tire 90* or even start at 180* and see if it lowers the weight needed to do the job. The red dot is the starting point.
@E2Moto6 жыл бұрын
And yet, Suzuki never left them there when I bought my bikes. Why?
@ralphkrueger53866 жыл бұрын
2 possible reasons: the first tires were perfect, which isn't likely or they weren't balanced from the factory if your talking about a new bike. Me personally for my own bike with beautiful mags, which I don't have, would mark the tire, pull it off and put a patch inside the tire to weight it. I would do this only after trying to turn the tire first, make the least weight possible. My DRZ400's wheels are so scratched from the first owner it doesn't matter, but I still prefer the weight on the spoke.
@E2Moto6 жыл бұрын
I see, and I also own SM DRZ, and then a 17' SV650 a year later. The weights on my SV are still there, but I happen to just give up because they were too hard and risky to remove, and didn't want to scratch my wheels. Thanks for the enlightenment, though. I never could have known that.

I'm not sure what Ohio charges for that but Texas is around 20.00 a tire for mounting and balancing and installing it back on your bike. Most places you only have to buy the tires from them. thanks for the tips if I ever need it but it's pretty cheap just to have less aggravation. Love the new bike but I'm missing the WR!
@CycleCruza6 жыл бұрын
It's often cheaper to buy tires online but if you can find a good deal locally I would still install my own tire, I'd rather have that $20 in my pocket! Here they charge $30 a tire at the cheapest! The more you change tires yourself the easier it gets. As you see my second time it only took me less than 15 minutes. It's so easy if you know what to do. First time always sucks tho.

It'll do! For everyone's info. The "V" part of the wheel's cross section shape is called the "well". It allows the tire's bead to go over the sides of the rim that are bigger than the bead diameter, as the opposite part of the circle moves into the well. Don't use too strong a mixture of soapy water by the way. Just about the same as you might use to wash dishes by hand. Tire shops use a special soap paste, which doesn't affect the rubber. Neat dish soap won't dry off and actually makes the bead slippery almost permanently.
@CycleCruza6 жыл бұрын

i couldnt see if you put the red dot at the valve stem or not. me, if it turned some then i would have marked the heavy part, then the light part, let the air out, broke both beads, turned the tire 1/4 turn, put a lil air in it ( but not to seat ) , put on balancer , and rechecked it for the 'true tire ' . then filled it to the proper pressure. besides, you didnt check the spokes to see if there was no leaks. .. get a tub ( oblong) put warm soapy water in it, set tire in it, rotate it slowly to make certain there is no leaks. awsome video !!

Yeah not only expensive BUT they take a long time to mount the tire. Any shop around here has you bring in the wheels in the morning and have you pick them up in the evening or even the next day. One dealership told me it would take a week to get to the wheels. lol Screw all of them, I can easily do it myself now. If you think you’re going to be doing this often. Spend an extra 80 dollars and get the tusk tire changing stand. It gets you off the floor. I had 4 flat tires, I could spend 80 bucks on a stand, or I could pay a shop 300 doll hairs (yes. I quoted it) The stand paid for itself first use and this is a tool i will have forever. Good luck guys
