How to change Battery in Omron Thermometer

The last part shown 'L', means low temperature. That means, the sensor disconnected/break. I've try this, and it breaks. I can't think of how this thermometer is assembled in the factory. The sensor is disconnected when you pull the battery holder (actually, it is a whole thermometer module). And it seems no way to properly connects the sensor again.

It is, you just pull the base & the battery comes out, change it & push back in! DON'T CUT IT & cause all these problems!

They made it as a disposable device. They don't want you to be able to change the battery, they want you to buy a bew thermometer every time the battery dies.

It's the video that needs to do a better job, not the battery makers, video person cut through the pull out compartment that's designed to easily pull out with the battery for easy replacement. None of this is needed, at the most, the knife might need to go into the gap to widen it & get the pull out started, but cutting through the attachment bit is what caused them the problems. Amazing the battery was able to end up in the right place & still working after cutting up the thermometer like this really!

Inside wire got cut while doing this Be careful not to pull out the chip like this. Usually has a battery replacing hatch. No need to pull out like this. Mine was not responding but ended up breaking the temp sensitive wire

Alternatively, don't cut anything, just pull the base & it easily pulls out the entire battery compartment, just replace the battery in it & push it back in again. Why on earth did you not try to just pull it out before you cut through the pull out compartment? The battery in mine says L788, which I could not find & that's what I was looking for when this video came up, you did answer that for me, that I need a LR41 battery, so thank you for that, but please don't tell people to cut through the compartment that's designed to pull out for easy battery replacement!

once pull out the battery casing, the internal wiring attached from from sensor disconnected. then u can throw the entire thermometer. thats y this thermometer brand without battery cover like other design for battery easy replacement. dont buy this brand

Correct. Tried it and same thing happen. Termistor cant read anymore. Cant put back the small wire after pulling battery out. This is actually a disposable thermoter.

Wrong way of opening! Just take a key and turn the round battery cover to unlock position, it opens.

What you are talking about is the MC-246 model. The MC-245 model (shown in the video) does NOT have a round battery cover. You can its absence if you pay close attention to the back part of the thermometer in this video.

A whole load of bull. The battery is impossible to change. I've even tried to saw the back of the device just to find out it cannot be opened. It's virtually disposable. Rubbish. Don't buy it!
