I thank you so very much for your clear & simple way of fixing the frustrating issue I was having. every time i hit a new tab to open it would appear different from the page that i opened to initially. Thank you for this tutorial. Very helpful. I have a non-related question. I have a new laptop (Lenovo) and I used my hisense tv as a monitor. My problem is the icons below the screen I cannot see them completely. Only half is showing. I tried to go to Intel Command Center but the Custom scaling dropdown is not there. @@GaugingGadgets Hey there, I do still need some help. There was an act of van dal ism with the service I use and some things have been reset, this being one of them, and thanks so much for the tips, of which I followed step by step without a hitch with very easy to follow instructions that actually did show every single step. I was able to dd the house shaped home bar icon at the top by the refresh page option which works beautifully, but I am still having the same original issue, which is whenever I open up a new page, tab or the net, I just get a blank grey screen with icon shortcuts that lead to pages I previously visited, it is s if it is trying to determine what sites are my favourites, the ones I visit the most often. Is there a way to make it stop doing that and just simply go to the homepage of my choice Edit. Problem solved! I went to the puzzle piece icon and turned off all my extensions and then turned them back on one by one while opening a new tab each time. I was easily able to find which one was causing the issue, then I just simply removed it.

I had my own customized home page for years and still used Google. Something happened 4/5/24 that I did not cause and I lost my Real Home Page and all my chosen icons on Google and also got icons I will never use under the Google search bar. The page is white and boring and cannot find the way to customize it. I HATE GOOGLE!Why can they not just let us do our own customizing with out their stinking meddling! I have tried for 2 days all day trying to get my customage page home back. No success as yet. By the way did I say I HATE GOOGLE!

Just had the same issue. You can just revert it back by going to “reset settings” and clicking on it to remove any cookies affecting your chrome

Just in case anyone gets to this head-scratcher. Opening a second copy of Chrome IGNORES the home page. For some weird reason Chrome only takes notice of the home page on the first Chrome opened.
