Shown on a 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee wj 4.0 I go thru changing and replacing your differential fluid. This is fairly universal for all vehicles it just depends where the differential is and how many you have.

You remind me to do this maintenance practice on my 01 WJ 4.0 L . I did the rear . But I been put on the side the front one . GR8 vídeo clip.

When I did my diffs, I cracked the fill nuts first. Was worried about not being able to refill when installed back on. Also my rear diff, I found it easy to reach upper bolts by raising my Jeep from the hitch. It raised the back of the Jeep allowing easy reach to bolts without wheels leaving the ground. Nice vid.

Good video but there's absolutely no need to put that much RTV on the differential cover. More is not always better.

It's funny I was critiquing the guy before me and I put less than him but it's still too much haha. It seals and I have no problems doing it that way but I agree the absolute minimum is best

The old oil is new. However it looks too thin. Mine was black with no metal shavings.

I put a thin layer of gasket maker and loosely fitted the cover overnight without oil. Only then did I torque the bolts. Your gasket is too much, you will only know at your next service.
