Well I take it all back sort of ! I have just done the belt and rollers on my 2013 x max I had it from new so no one has touched it but it had plenty of grease on the sliders and some contamination on the rollers when taken apart , so maybe I was wrong with my previous comment about not putting grease on the sliders . However rightly or wrongly I put the new rollers and sliders back dry with no lube just saying lol

quick question, I swapped my rollers, sliders and belt on my xmax 250 yesterday. The variator was covered in grease, I cleaned it and put new rollers in dry, and it is running smoothly. Checking the Yamaha workshop manual the rollers should be greased. Now not sure if I should diassemble and grease or leave them dry? How long did your dry rollers last?

For my 2014 xmax 250 says 14g roller weights... but when I put it on scale it was just 12g. Just like yours. So I ordered again. Damn wrong data everywhere.

I likes the video , but I would not have put grease on the sliders because surely the dust will will turn it to goo and then its operation will be come sticky

While not overly complex, that doesn’t look like something I would want to do on the side of the road. PS: Why not just use a pod style air filter and throw all that ugly plastic in the wheelie bin.

Dude that's horrible, you'll screw up all the bushings and the variator like that
