appreciate the DIY, might I suggest pressure washing the area first and then drying with a leaf blower. Maybe using some Iron denomination product. Brake dust is highly abrasive and damaging to the lungs and sinuses. You were sniffling hard. Also not a bad idea to wear a fine particulate respirator if it's really dusty.

Please do a video about your problems with the car, or tips we should know if we want to know one! I really want to get one so bad but I'm afraid of the milage and what milage is too much if i were to get one!

Ay yo bro, i have 22" m550i changed the front brake pads like a month ago but when they changed for me sometimes i feel the brake pedal is not firm enough or need to press more for complete stop, is it common?

It’s a pretty easy job to DIY if you have all the tools ready

i had stock brakes on my 540 but i am upgrading to these. The pads that came with my used callipers still had about 80% of material so am thinking to reuse those for now. Only issue is that i took them out of the callipers to clean and inspect, so now the 3m tape is shot. You think i could put them back anyways? Can you use a piece of any 3m double sided tape to replace?

Do you mind sharing the part numbers? I have a 2020, but I'm sure they are the same. Thinking about tackling this myself. Also, did you have to reset anything with the computer system?

Part numbers: Rotors 374x36mm (34-11-6-875-283) (34 11 6 875 284) And brake pads 34106888459 Brembo. And no I didnt reset any light because the reminder inside the car hasnt reached the date. But when you do get the brake service light on you cant just easily reset it with the button on the left side of the instrument cluster.

How often do you change your rotors and brakes?
@_h3rcules_ Жыл бұрын
It depends. But usually when you feel vibrations when braking, visible cracks, grooved, or when its getting thin. Sometimes you really dont need to change them. I feel like the the original bmw rotors will last almost 80k miles. Specially the back ones. But it would be wise to change them when doing brake pads. Most importantly the front ones since those are the ones they take most of the heavy load when braking.

Its similar. But you have the bigger brakes . Its not hard though. You can do the work yourself. Maybe if you live around me I could probably help.
