How to change HydraFlex header from rigid to flex mode (1 of 3)

If one has mostly "flat" ground does running rigid mode benefit you or should one rely on the technology? Or is the technology non beneficial for instance, beans grew very tall and bent over (moderately) so there may be more pods down low? Thanks in advance.
