thank god I found your video. I struggled for ages trying to fit a f-ing 2285 and gave up. Ordered a QH 6PK2300 from ebay. fits perfectly.

😅 Welcome to the club, most of us ordered the recommended 2285 and it actually is 2300

Just a note: The 900 series belt (90 inches) will fit. The OEM belt off of the car is 89.5 inches. I tried for a couple of hours to slip the belt over the crank pulley or the AC pulley with no success. Finally used a ratchet strap to pull the tensioner wrench back toward the rear control arm (long strap), and then it was fairly easy to put the belt on from the top of the engine by sliding it onto the SMOOTH pulley. Total PITA! Thank you for the video, it was very helpful!

You are welcome, Glad this video was helpful. It's pretty dumb, they are selling multiple belts for the same car/engine. On that engine can fit only 1 belt, why selling the other smaller ones? I did the same way, the smooth pulley or it was the idler pulley, if I remember right the name, was the easiest to slip the belt on. I used my leg and a long breaker bar to lose up the tensioner

how often do u change this? i got 2010 mazda6 ts 2.0 petrol, also do u never change timing chain on these vehicles, the dealer told me that but want to confirm from u

I can't say direct time when, but once you see the belt looks old or cracking, you need to change it immediately. 😟 I would NOT recommend that, if you like your car then change the timing chain every 60,000 to 100,000 miles. If you don't change the timing chain, over time the engine will destroy itself. Pistons will start hitting the valves and destroy the engine. Then you will need to buy a new engine for the car.

Mate i tell ya i have done 2 here in nz and i pull my hair out all list as 6pk2285 or 6pk2315 as u know 285 no chance of fitting and 315 squeaks as too loose useless parts places best vid if seen in ages hahaha

😅 I feel your pain, I had to do all that 3 times. First it was the 6PK2285, ( sadly I couldn't return it. Then 6PK2315, I could literally put it on without needed to max out the tensioner pully. I'm glad I didn't cut the old belt, or I would be 3 weeks without a car.

😅 I feel your pain. I had to buy 3 belts together to get the right one. (2300mm) All the time spent on recording the video + messing around. That will put a dent in your plans .

Every part store was showing it's 6PK2285. I found on Ebay that there is an 6PK2300. And it fitted perfectly.

This is what I was talking about I thought it’s a timing belt lol
@KlavsX_ Жыл бұрын
ah, no this is an accessory belt, (poly v belt) or 6PK. Timing chain is located behind all the pulleys, hidden behind a cover, as the timing chain needs oil too

👍You are welcome. All I can or could do is share the information. ( make step-by-step videos) I wish I could help the people who reach out to me, but I can't work on other people's cars. For me to be able to work on other people's cars I need to get a certification, without that, I can get into lawsuits un huge fines.
