Glad I finally found a vid that clearly explains the older pump style. I changed out a busted blue hose and it’s locked up on me, stuck in the up position. I think that I understand why. I guess that’s priming the pump the last step I’m missing? Thank you for sharing!

What about the filter? My husband thinks the filter needs changed.

I didnt change the filter, just cleaned it. I didn't have that much gunk in the fluid other than the discoloration. Even though I didnt change the filers, it made a huge difference in the noise level.

That’s a new one. I’d go with the recommended fluid to be safe.
