The guy at the auto parts store said they don't replace cx-5 headlights because you have to take the whole thing apart. I avoided this for weeks. This was so easy. Thanks so much. 10 minutes tops.

Thanks mate for showing us how to get it done when like another comment, Mazda dealer said headlight had to be removed to change them and wanted to charge 1.5 hrs of labour!! I did it after watching your video in 10 minutes for both high beams. Thanks again.

Yup.. $350 they said as they also had to remove the bumper..

Thanks so much. The tip about the tab was really helpful. It took less than five minutes to do both sides. I'd suggest wearing latex gloves so you don't touch the glass bulb.

The hard part of the job, on the low beam, is figuring out how to spring that little connector. It makes a little *click* sound when it’s actually ready to unplug. Other than that easy enough other than no working room to speak of and you can’t both see and touch the part 😂 typical modern car. Anyways thanks for this video, dude, I liked and subscribed out of gratitude!

The low beam connector is not easy. Mine is not the same kind of connector as the high beam. They need to show how exactly to get the low beam connector undone.

i was trying to replace mine, 2014 EU type, loogs nothing like that on the inside, was just a big metal chunk over the bilb, no connectors to take of, no lightbulb to turn and pull out. Seemes like they changed it so the whole housing has to come of

This is for regular halogen bulbs, NOT xenon/HID. My 2014 CX5 grand turing has Xenon/HID and it's a very different process.

Thanks for the video. I have a 2015 CX-5 GT. While the daytime running lights are like this video, the Low Beam lights are not. The power plug goes in to some sort of housing unit behind the light instead of into the bulb. =/ Now I have no idea what to do?

They H I D bulbs. They called D4S. Be very careful when changing them. Disconnect the power from the actual light. Take to a mechanic if you not sure

His version is halogen. Indonesian version is HID (mine using bi xenon HID), no separate bulb for high and low beam.

They aren't. The low beam is an h11 and the high beam is a 9005 or 9006

This does not work if you have an AFS system where the headlights move with turning the wheel.
