How to change stratocaster pickguard

I've changed the pickguard on my sienna sunburst American strat 3 times. Quick fix if you get bored with the look. Starts are great for customizing. Love the blue pearloid on the blue guitar, so unique, beautiful.

What color pickguards did you choose. I also have a Sienna Sunburst Strat.

@@bluwng first I put black on it, but I wasn't feeling it at all. I eventually opted for something classier, the official fender pearloid accessory kit. They also sell an aged pearloid accessory kit, either one looks beautiful with sienna sunburst

I really like that pickguard. I think it goes great with the blue of the body. Much better than that horrible white.

You probably found the answer but to anyone who doesn't, it's generally best to experiment with them, you can take a picture of the heights and try to match then but just try and get a nice even set across the strings, or have more treble or more bass! It's whatever you want!

What was the reason for removing strings and pickguard? Just loosen strings slightly to allow enough room to do the swap.

You shouldn't have to remove the trem just to swap the pickguard out.

on a american 22 fret you have to pull the pickgaurd back, in which the trem is blocking it, so he did.

@@dansterwerecool surely all he had to do was to ease the pick guard out, bend it slightly, slowly pull it back, this is essentially what he does in the vid anyway.

I didn't like the color of my pickgaurd so I bought another one, big mistake. My guitar is a cheap strat copy that doesn't have grommets under the pickguard It didn't line up by the neck and I can't get the springs to go back in, what a mess I am ready to break it in half
