I've had a few on my channel, i use silicone spray as works for longer. The belts are different from 1991 onwards, i use to sell G3. Also brushrolls release different pre 1991 Generation 3

Use wD40 to lubricate the rusty lever.

How did you get it to open? Will you please explain. Mine is as old and rusty as yours was.

You apply wd40 to those 2 locks that hold the plate on. Then you take a hammer and lightly tap them until they wiggle free
