I recently had an episode where I dropped a globe and it shattered on the floor with a fixture by Olde Brick Lighting Co. What I can't understand is why the people who design these pendulums don't attach the decorative cap to the tightening nut fixture so that you can move it out of the way and fasten it higher up on the rod. That way you can remove the globe and bulb with both hands without fighting with the cap and nut the whole time.

Does the set screw go into a hole when replacing? Or just tightens against the metal Rod? Can’t seem to find where the screw goes in.
