The first time I did this, I made my then three year old daughter do it. She could stand in the trunk. That saved my back. And yes, it is that easy.

Quick question.. How can we keep warm/hot air in the 996 / 998 cabins during winter months? Mine has frigid A/C but no heat! ??
@HelpMeDIY2 жыл бұрын
+SGT Tom Bailes good question. I have a video for that. Search my channel for fixing the heater and foam pieces and you should find it

Do you have a video of a transmission removal / clutch replacement. I just got my Porsche Boxster and so far your channel has been the most thorough guide to working on my new car . Also I just went out and bought the 101 projects book because of you haha

+Brendan Larsen hey thanks man! Haven’t had the pleasure of removing the transmission or engine yet, but when I do you know you’ll get the most detailed video out there on it ;). After I move into the new house/garage with a lift I hope to tackle some of those kind of jobs.

Great videos, very helpful. Did you ever try a chest\torso harness for your camera? Then you could actually use two hands to do the work...?
@HelpMeDIY2 жыл бұрын
+The Sword Rules thanks! That would be way to easy with 2 hands! 😂 🍻

Thank you for the content Aaron! I've looked through your videos and didn't see a repair/replacement video for the blower motor and resistor on a Porsche 986. Have you done one and I just missed it? Thanks again for great content and videos!

+Rich Clark you’re welcome! You didn’t miss it, I’ve never had to do that. Therefore no video 😝. Thanks for watching!

Thanks for the vid! Got a 987 and trying to do as much DIY as possible, find it really fun and definitely makes me understand the car more! Most complicated thing coming up is changing the shifter cables, trying to look through YT and there are vids but still not entirely sure how it is done. If you feel the need to change yours, please show :) Subscribed!

hey when you play heavy bass music do you ever hear a rattle coming from either/both doors?
@HelpMeDIY3 жыл бұрын
+Neil Thomas that could mean your cabin filter has come loose. I kid. But no, I don’t. 🤷♂️

I watched about 10 of these, but none of them was the same as my 2008 S Limited Edition (the orange one). I had to figure it out for myself that the black tab holding the filter in - which has no apparent screws holding it in place - SLIDES to the side, and then it pops out, after you flip the (other) side clip down (on the right, short, side in American cars); not the most intuitive. As well, those two plastic pieces that you have to remove do not exactly slide easily back in: you have to pay attention with the center, large, piece where the hinges go, before you flip it down (best done from in front of the vehicle, even if it may be a reach for someone with shorter arms). "Germany engineering!" I hope these additional notes help the next person - will post it on every related video. Good luck.
