Where did you lift the car exactly to place the jack stand? I am afraid to lift anywhere away from the notches of the pinch weld. If i use a jack lift, i am unable to place the jack stand.
@iroybk6 ай бұрын
For lifting a 2023 Kia Sportage, aim as close to the pinch weld notches as possible. The area where the body folds and forms an edge is structurally sound for lifting. Ensure you're near the intended tire but lifting along that edge, close to the notches, should be safe for both lifting and placing your jack stand. Done this way multiple times without any issues. Always double-check the vehicle's manual for specific guidance and use a proper jack pad to protect the car's body.

Oil filters can be bought at all auto parts stores. You receive everything in the box that you do from the dealership. At fraction of the cost!!!

My dealership gave me oil filter 26350-2S001. I found that oil filter drain plug is different size. Is it okay to use?
@iroybk14 күн бұрын
@GilsanJang Products can change over time, and dealers usually match the vin number to make sure they're giving you a valid part for your model. Also, if they did screw it up, you got it from them, not 3rd party. I hope this helps.

Just had my wife's 2024 Kia sportage first oil changed at University Kia in Huntsville Alabama it was a complimentary first oil change before we got half way home from having the oil changed the oil light came on I pulled into a parking lot under a street light and checked the oil no oil on the dip stick the morons Either didn't put oil in it or didn't tighten the oil plug or the filter so I called the dealer and told them what the hell was going on and they had to send a roll back wreaker to pick it up and brought us a loner car so my advice is if you have your oil changed by some sparkey make sure to be careful driving home. Oh yea it is brand new with only 1968 miles on it i just hope it hasn't damaged the motor.

I wonder what the chances are the dealer will actually replace the o’ring, crush washer, and reinstall the panel with all the clips. I’m not feeling optimistic.

I know or a shop. Always feels good to do it myself and know all that was done. Especially now going 8k between changes.

I want to know if I'm understanding this correctly. I have a 23 Sportage and the coolant is below the low level line. I went through the manual and from my understanding I'm only supposed to top it off with distilled water? Is this correct? I even looked at the recommended lubricant page and it also says use distilled water
@iroybk Жыл бұрын
yes I read the exact same thing
@mccjoe01 Жыл бұрын
Distilled water doesn't contain any minerals or chemicals that could cause corrosion. That's why it's recomended

Could I use 0W-16?
@iroybkАй бұрын
@Okikor1 Given that newer cars have much higher tolerances, I wouldn't use any oil weight that is not listed in the owners manual. Check your owners manual for the fluids. it's usually in the back of the manual. Pay attention to the temperatures that each oil is good for, and make sure what you use is good for your geography.

Where did you put the jack stands?
@iroybk9 ай бұрын
The jack stands were placed within the 2 notches mentioned at the first of the video. The official "lift points" if you will. I hope this makes sense, let me know if you have additional questions. There was room to jack as well as replace the jack with the stand in this area.
@ThresherXG9 ай бұрын
@@iroybk Thanks! That answers the next question I had of how to jack it up and place the jack stands there lol. Are your jack stands have the kinda curved head? I think most do, I was wondering if the pinch weld fit on those kind well
