Thanks sir! You’re the FIRST video I found with such a good and clear view of the process! I just dissembled mine to chase a partial clog and this helped immensely thank you again

Great video clearly showing the disassembly and assembly better than others I watched. I belive the docs say that the gears it comes with are hardened, but I wanted to be sure I knew how to disassemble it for a good cleaning after some failed TPU prints, which don't need hardened gears anyway.

I had a jam with the clicking, and a hardened drive gear set to fit, did it all in one go with the help from this vid, great ! One thing, when you put it all back together, be sure to home the cutting blade into the extruder gears and not flopping about in the pry bar, printer gets very angry when it cant cut filament

Thank you for the clear video. Ordered one with my new A1 mini printer to keep as a spare. Along with a couple of print beds and different nozzles. Will be my first 3d printer.

Congratulations. I am sure you will enjoy it. Apparenty I was incorrect and the gears are ALREADY Hardened. But good to keep a set on hand I guess. LOL

Hi. What is the reference for new (Bearings) x2 ? Thanks

@blockworld5835 I am sorry I don't understand the question. Are you referring to the 2 new barrings? They come with the new Extruder gears.

A1 printers come with hardened extruder gears out of the box :)

You are correct. I should have Checked that first. It's BETTER than a P1P in that regard. Oh Well Maintenance and How to Swap Nozzle and Gearing it is. Thanks for pointing that out.

lol i have just switched out mine, on my new A1, i thought i was stainless steel, they looked different like in this video, the new ones had black wheels and the original was silver, so i checked the tech specs, and idd it is :D well thats a wasted 20 min, atleast now i have a spare set of extruder gears :D Funny thing is, just the other day i was thinking, well since they dont even sell stainless steel gears for it, and the hardened gears are so cheap, why dont they just make the printer with them, i guess they do just that :D
@3DandTeePrinting7 ай бұрын
@Crisping1612 Same. It's cheap, I know I need hardened steel for abrasive filaments, why not. Yeah should have read that it already had it.

Hardened by plastic gear? 😂 I Wish they had a sturdier setup, very accurate printing though.
@3DandTeePrinting6 ай бұрын
@_..-.._..-.._ It's Hardened Steel Gears attached to plastic. So yeah kind of.

Did you replace the stock hardened extruder gear with a new one just because the paint was slightly worn off? 💀

The Build up was unexpected since there has been no issues before the swap (minus bed recall) . Your Right I should have Checked that first. Gears are already Hardened. Oh Well Maintenance and How to Swap Nozzle and Gearing it is. Thanks for pointing that out.

Do you have to change temperatures in profiles to compensate for the hardened steel?
@3DandTeePrinting6 ай бұрын
@dosdont Yes. If your running a hardened steel NOZZLE you can change the settings in Bambu or Orcaslicer from Stainless Steel to Hardened Steel. This is to prevent the warnings from popping up when you try to send the print to the printer. It will usually warn you about needing a Hardend nozzle for abrasive materials. Hardened steel is less thermally conductive and needs about 5c to 10c hotter than you would normally print with Stainless steel stock nozzles. The gears are Hardened from the factory on stock units. Mine were just old and I wanted to do some preventive maintenance to the machine so might as well show that for those who needed help.
@dosdont6 ай бұрын
@@3DandTeePrinting "Change from Stainless steel to Hardened Steel?" Maybe you can show how to do this in Orca as I haven't seen anything that references stainless or hardened. I know I can change the default temperature but I don't know what you mean by changing the settings from stainless to hardened. I see nozzle sizes but not what you're saying.

@3DandTeePrinting7 ай бұрын
If you can swing it, A1 over A1 mini unless space is limited. You WILL regret it when you go to print something larger and tou say Damn I should have got the bigger one. Both are really good.

_Some_ of the maintenance items are overprescribed. I have 3000 hours on my ankermake m5c. Besides linear rails on X & Y and a Noctua hot end fan, it’s all original! Belts, hotend, silicone sock, extruder, print bed. The accessory market is a grift. It still prints better than new due to the rails. About 1/4 of that use was with abrasive engineering filaments inside a custom enclosure. Sure wish AM hadn’t dropped the ball, Bambu killed their hype.
@3DandTeePrinting6 ай бұрын
@_..-.._..-.._ Yeah the maintenance plan for the Bambu is like getting your oil changed every 2000 milles instead of 3000. But Ankermake....... I will be nice and say, I am glad your printer from Ankermake is WORKING and has worked this long. We own the M5 and M5C. The M5C we are kn our SECOND replacement unit and still not printing. Ankermake by far TO ME is one of the worse 3D COMMUNITY friendly companies out there. Sorry, I said I was going to be nice and not bad mouth them anymore and just wait till what's going to happen, happens to the company. I will leave it at that. I wonder why you changed to a Noctua and Linear Rails. I wonder 🤔 hmmmm.
