If you have old yamaha tools it will fit. I had a 89 venture and the wrench fit without modifying it

Hi John. The wrench adapter is designed for connecting power handles of all kinds, with or without a ratchet. To measure correctly with a torque wrench, the line that connects the screw head, to the torque wrench head needs to be at 90 degrees to the handle of the torque wrench. I think maybe this is not what we see at: 5:20 In your demonstration the length of the adapter was added to the length of the handle, which created a greater torque than what the torque wrench measured. But maybe I'm wronge.

Think the swivel action of the SnapOn TW might be skewing the perceived angle at that moment.

great video but I can't imagine doing all this myself without about a $1000 worth of tools. I had a shop do it and now i have an oil leak. I'm noticing the dip stick shows oil all the way at the top of the range. Is that overfilled? If so, how does it leak out when its overfilled? They said it was by the oil lid and some was on the air box. Should I remove some oil?

Its not the battery. These bikes are notorious for having a slow starter speed when turning over. The only way to fix it is to replace the wires going to the starter and ground with a beefier lower gauge wire. MaxAir Engineering makes an 8 gauge kit for these bikes. It solves the slow starter issue.

Procedure is the same for the Stratoliner and Roadliner as they have the same engine…

1. There is no reason to use that stupid torque wrench adapter. Just find another 17 mm bolt that is accessible on the bike, loosen it, then torque it with a torque wrench. You will have a feel for how tight it is. Then you can go back in and torque your engine drain bolts by feel. 2. Why in the world are you accessing the drain plug for the oil tank from the opposite side of the bike, and reaching way underneath it like an idiot? Move over to the right side of the bike where the work is closer to you. 3. You're supposed to coat the oil filter gasket with FRESH oil, not with used dirty oil from the drain pan. Aren't you people supposed to be the professionals here? 🤦🏿♂️
