I came to this video to see how you handled the "Lay the bike on its side" debate. That is a super slick trick of dunking the filter!

A couple of additions: 1) to get maximum crud out you should ride the bike hard for few minutes make sure it is fully warmed up and crud is suspended in the oil - idling won't do it. 2) there are magnet(s) inside the screen filter and possibly in the drain caps - be sure to remove all particles - may need an air gun. 3) with all the drains open, for a minute or so each side: lay the bike on the left side, then right side, then left side again you'll be surprised how much more oil will comes out.

The manual says the oil level should be between the lower edge and middle of the level viewer. Also there is no small screen any more on the 24s.

Does the ktm oil change kit come with all the washers or just one and if not where can I get all 3

2024 ktm 500 exc-f dose not come with small oil screen on the bottom of the motor! Confirm by ktm !

Newbie here. 1) How do you know for sure that you are tightening every correctly (not too tight or too loose)? 2) How often do you think the oil needs to be changed if using one of these bikes as a lightweight adventure machine, mostly chilling in a moderate tempo, and not racing? Thanks!

You can use a torque wrench to ensure all the bolts are tightened just the right amount. Husqvarna recommends changing the oil and oil filter every 15 hours and that's a good place to start. Depending on your riding conditions, you can likely go longer but it'd be a good idea to check how the oil looks or even get an oil analysis done so you can see how well the oil is holding up.
