Hi Erin, Great info --Is there a way to change/set hyperlinks as a defulat for all documents (word, publisher) so I don't need to do it for every document?

@@deborahorrill4214 Hi, Deborah. Great question! If you save your file as a template, your custom hyperlink style should appear in future documents that use that template.

Thank you for this video. I'm wondering if this is normal Word behavior. My Normal template font is Arial 10. I modified the hyperlink font to Arial 12 Bold, but when I type the hyperlink it's in Arial 10 font. Does normal template affect the hyperlink defaults.
@erinwrightwriting Жыл бұрын
Thank you so much for watching! Just to clarify, when you modified the hyperlink font, did you do so through the Manage Styles dialog box?
@sf9530 Жыл бұрын
@@erinwrightwriting Thanks for the reply. Yes, through Manage Styles. Ever since the last Microsoft Update, Word is not acting quite right. Some defaults I have set, they are back to the original default. When I link a specific folder on my PC it goes to the web. It is frustrating to say the least.
@erinwrightwriting Жыл бұрын
@@sf9530 That is frustrating! Unfortunately, I don't have any suggestions. However, I encourage you to report the issue to Microsoft in case others are also having this same problem since that update.

All of the hyperlinks in my Word 2019 documents made from a master doc, including the master doc when I make a hyperlink in it to save as a new doc, have defaulted to *{* HYPERLINK "URL" *}* somehow with bold parentheses and any link label/text is replaced with grayed-out , including the link if it's a link. When I highlighted all of one and right-clicked on it and looked at Styles, it was set to Normal. I changed it to Hyperlink, but all of *{* HYPERLINK "URL" *}* is an underlined hyperlink now and it's a different font and size. That is, the *{* HYPERLINK *}* part did not go away, but the label/text changes to a grayed-out and the label/text seems to be gone. When I create a hyperlink out of some text, it it does the same thing, but CTRL+Z puts the text back. Is there a way to set them all of them in a document back to a normal hyperlink and have them all keep my selected font and size in Options or anywhere? Some documents have tens of hyperlinks, and one has 100s. If you can tell me how to change them all at the same time, maybe in Options, I would greatly appreciate it. I must have made a bad key combo somehow to change it for the entire document. I use a master document called Blank with only the word Blank in it with the font and size I want. If I could change the default font to Tahoma size 12 or 10 and make a hyperlink work normally in Options, that should do the trick. I found a keyboard combo that would change one link at a time back to normal, but when I opened a document I had used it in days later, everything was back to *{* HYPERLINK "URL" *}*, so it didn't really work. Could it be that my Template was changed with a bad keyboard key combo? I'm lost. Thanks in advance, Erin.

Hi, I cross-reference as hyperlinks, but it doesn't appear in the blue color of the hyperlink style? Thanks for your helping
@erinwrightwriting3 жыл бұрын
Thank you for watching! Cross-reference hyperlinks inherit the style of the surrounding text. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to find a workable solution to change their style, globally. They can, of course, be changed manually. If I find a solution, I will let you know. Best of luck!
