The tranny hack for most suv and cars at the tranny cooler or oil radiator line the out dumps into a jug and keep adding new oil till it’s bright red First use gravity then turn on engine ALL OIL GETS CHANGED In one service Heavy machine mechanic taught me this and I have saved my transmission 1996 still going strong 180k miles

So your changing the fluid from the pan and not dropping the pan and cleaning it and not changing filter and gasket and not clean the magnet. Job not complete!

Question, Why are you using DEX-IV if the manual calls for DEX-III/Mercon-III
@jimmybrain92374 жыл бұрын
Hot tip. Just weight your oil pan before and after for the oil quantity.

I have a 2002 nissan sentra gxe and it has 253k miles. I've drained and filled it before but never had a filter change. Is the filter even serviceable? I heard you have to drop the valve body in order to change the filter
@Kalikazoo2 жыл бұрын
On the VQ35DE motor the filter is accessible as soon as you drop the transmission pan. It’s held in by one bolt and is serviceable. I’ve heard that most vehicles only need 1, maybe 2 pan drops at most throughout the lifetime of the transmission barring no other issues and depending on mileage of course. Remember not to flush these old transmissions! At most only do a pan drop, it’s better to do a drain and fill as to not introduce too much pressure to the aged system via flush, potentially reducing clutch friction and loosening built up gunk, or hurting an old o ring/seal.

What would be your recommendation for checking the fluid hot or cold. Depending on how far I drive I get a lot of variation in my reading. My assumption for cold would be after the car has been sitting for an entire night then start it up and check. For hot I’ve heard a lot of opinions, my pathfinder is the 2002 LE model with auto trans

Thank you Guys for the prefect Video how to change Transmission Fluid. Do it yourself only. Never go to any Oil change station because they will Flush your Transmission oil by dirty Flushing machine or they will put wrong Oil into your Transmission...I saw how they put Transmission Fluid into Engine by mistake. They have many oil Guns 🔫 ther.

You don't need to change the transmission filter?
@ligon29 Жыл бұрын
There's not really much of a filter in there, just a mesh screen and magnet on the bottom. Change it if you like.
@tstscorpion5 жыл бұрын
not too informative video, you don't even show the type of fluid (the video is about pathfinder) so why "check your manual"? also, what about replacing the crush washer and what size is it? what about letting ALL the fluid come out? just my 2 cents!!!

I have an 04 pathfinder with almost 86k miles should I change the trans fluid it drives good and doesn’t slip
@1AAuto4 жыл бұрын
+DANSHIVA 101 Thanks for checking us out! Most manufacturers recommend replacing transmission fluid every 30,000 to 60,000 miles. At 86k it would be good to get this changed even if it is still running smoothly to prevent any possible damaged from the over used fluids.

What kind of transmission fluid did you use for your pathfinder? I have a 2000 with the 3.3 engine but I don't have the car manual
@1AAuto6 жыл бұрын
+human We would suggest contacting a local parts store or the dealership with your VIN to verify the fluid required for your specific application. Thank you.
